Time Limits

The Resource Management Amendment Act 2013 introduced time limits for the total elapsed time between the application being accepted and the consent authority making a decision. The following diagram sets out the timeframes for each stage of the resource consent process and the total time limit. The total time limits apply unless further information is requested, a report is commissioned, deferral occurs, the consent authority extends the timeframe, or the applicant suspends processing of the application.
